International

International

The first blog that I found was called Always Learning. It is from a school in Thailand. This blog was posted by a student/ teacher named Kim Cofino. She talks about becoming a 21st Century Literacy Specialist. She uses her blog to talk about being a student and a literacy specialist. She also includes her resume on her blog. Clearly, blogs help international schools just as well as any other schools.

The second one was a blog dealing with Edutopia. On this blog it talks about how the web blogs are beneficial to the classrooms. They help the students with technology learning. Eventually the new learning will be with no more books but computers. This blog is really interesting in the fact that it talks about the situation and what is going on. It also talks about how blogs are helpful to both students and teachers.

International schools are using technology in the same fashion as schools in the US. All children need an education and technology seems to keep advancing. Therefore, international schools much stay up to date on the current variety of knowledge methods. These children are receiving a better education because of technology.
International teachers feel the same way as US teachers in the fact that these blogs are “helpers” to their classrooms. They provide so much extra help along with the actual lesson plans. It is great that a majority of schools are using these blogs to help better the future children that will carry on our name. Education is a important factor in life. International schools are helping their students learn the “21st century way”. Blogs are a great invention for education.

K - 12

K 12

http://www.glnd.k12.va.us/podcasts/blogs.shtml

The first US blog that I found was for Goochland County Public Schools. This website states that Goochland County has just started using blogs to communicate. There are several graphs on the website to show the progress. Students, Teachers, and parents have found that blogs are an easy way to stay up to date on things that are going on in the classroom. Parents seem to like the blogs just as well as teachers and student. This way everyone is informed of what is going on as far as his or her education goes.

The second website that I found is associated with Cobb County School District. They use blogs to help keep activities fresh and up to date. On this website you can read about what has recently been going on in their school. They give both teacher recognition and student recognition on this site. Basically this blog gives parents a little insight on what is going on in their child’s school system.

Along with these two school systems many others are using technology in their classrooms to help better the student’s education. Blogs are a good way to keep all three sides of the party fresh and up to date. Blogs are an easy way of communication for students, teachers, and parents. Every one can have a blog, and they are easy to set up. I think that more and more new technology is coming out and why should we not take advantages of the opportunities. Along with blogs, there is the “ 21st century classrooms.” There are tons of ideas as far as technology goes to be brought into the classroom. Technology helps the students to better understand certain topics that they may not understand in class. Plus it gives everyone new incite on the technology side of things.

Alex

ALEX

Alex is a great friend to teachers of all grades. Alex stands for Alabama Learning Exchange. There are a lot of things to choose from such as courses of study, lesson plans, distance learning, etc. All of these items benefit teachers of all fields and grade levels. It is nice to have this website for reference when trying to plan out a school course. Under lesson plans you can pick your subject and grade level, and it gives you a lesson plan guide. If you choose course of study and pick a subject, it gives you some tips and guidelines as well.
As a future science teacher, I know that this website will help out a lot. When preparing my lesson plans, I will use Alex to help guide in the right direction as far as to know what tactics to “stick” to when teaching my students. This website could actually be the learning center of most classrooms in the future. There is so much great information for teachers to be informed about. Overall, this website if very productive and will help me out tremendously in my future teaching.

Access

ACCESS

Access stands for Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide. This program consists of distant learning for teachers and students through technology. Access provides Alabama public high school students with additional educational benefits. Basically, one hundred and ninety four schools are participating in Access so far. Access requires a “ 21st Century Classroom”. This includes computers, software, headphones, and etc. Each school that participates receives a grant for eighty five thousand dollars to supply and create their “21st Century Classroom”.
I would use Access to better benefit my students. There are some children who need that extra help and Access might help them. Through distant learning, one could manage to have more time to spend when it comes to their studies. I think Access is a great program for schools to use. There should be more schools joining this program. Also, this classroom gives student experience with technology. As time goes on, technology is increasing drastically. It is important to know how to use the computer and other items closely related. Through Access a student can learn through new technology and that is what makes this program so great to use.
